Time To Visit Barney (Barn Owl)
One from the archives. Hopefully we will get a chance to visit Barny over on the lower mainland this winter. It's been a couple of years now but I see folks are still getting the odd photo of him.
Barney With Wings Up (Barn Owl)
Found a nice wings up image of the barn owl too. Hope you like it. The background is somewhat less chaotic in this one and the colors offset the bird better.

Barn Owl Fly By
Another image from a trip to Boundary Bay In February 2018. This guy was somewhat of a celebrity. Everyone would arrive for the evening show and he would come out for a few loops around the field until he caught a vole. At this point he would carry his catch back to a large cedar hedge where he would disappear for the rest of the evening.
Barn Owl Launch
Just realized that I missed posting this burst shot of the barn owl launching off of a post. Probably saw that vole that he eventually caught.

Right at the end of the day the Boundary Bay barn owl caught a nice fat vole before disappearing into the trees once more.

A barn owl does a sudden dive in an attempt to catch a vole during a hunt a Boundary Bay.
Perched Shot (Barn Owl)
Here is a picture of the Boundary Bay barn owl. He just seems to magically appear around 4:15. He puts on quite the show for about 15 minutes or until he catches a vole and then disappears again into the trees.

Went to Boundary Bay again this weekend and had the pleasure of getting a few photos with the local barn owl.
Fleeting Glimps (Barn Owl)
First barn owl in the wild for me. Unfortunate about the lighting and lack of eye contact. Hopefully I will get another chance on my next trip to Boundary Bay.
