Black Oystercatcher (Deep Bay)
More experimentation with the 2X extender.

Oystercatcher Practice Shot (Black Oystercatcher)
Pretty dark today. Went to Deep Bay to practice my BIF shots.

Sunshine Oystercatcher
Dave Pley and I had a lot of fun yesterday with the Deep Bay oystercatchers. It's been a long time since the sun was shining so it was good to get out for a bit. Had to reel back on the magnification as the birds were flying pretty close at times.

Oystercatchers. . . . .Rock 🙂
Got our first taste of sunshine in a long time yesterday so I went up to Deep Bay to play with the oystercatchers again.

Esquimalt Lagoon (Black Oystercatcher)
Another image from our early morning trip last month.

Juvi in Flight (Black Oystercatcher)
Interesting to see the color differences in the juvenile birds as compared to the adult. Eyes are brown instead of yellow and beak is dull orange instead of the bright orange that we are used to. Please zoom in for extra detail.

Keep Clam (Black Oyster Catcher)
Another black oyster catcher image from a different angle. They should be called clam catchers because that's all they seem to eat 🙂

TIme To Clam Up (Black Oyster Catcher)
Had a lot of fun today testing out the new system by photographing black oyster catchers in flight at Piper's Lagoon. Those little dots on the back wing are water droplets that have fallen out of the clam.
