Kamloops Western Kingbird
This image of the western king bird taken on the Airport Biking trail near Kamloops.

Juniper Beach Oriole
Sorry about this one. Not quite up to "Steve Standards". Had to be satisfied with a key hole shot through the branches. These guys are really warry and hard to setup on. Only two breeding males at Juniper Beach when I went to visit and they never seemed to sit still for long.

I Know Where You Live
Here is an image of one of the many nesting boxes on a bluebird run near Logan Lake. These guys usually just pass through our area at the start of April. This is where they end up. They really are "Mountain Bluebirds" as this shot was taken at around 3500 feet ASL.

Better Angle
Here is another Evening Grosbeak at a somewhat better angle and with a nicer background.

Evening Grosbeak
You see the odd one of these kicking around in the high country near Kamloops.

Lac Du Bois Hoo Doos? (Cinnamon Ridge)
As you all know, I'm really an avian photographer. Here is my first attempt at scenic photos. What do you think? You need to see it at 100% to really appreciate the detail. Looks awesome on a 27" IPS monitor. Had to climb over the barbed wire fence and stand on the railroad track for this shot. Taken handheld with my 70-200mm IS2.
Here's a bit of an update on this image. Learned through Facebook that this area is called "Cinnamon Ridge" by the locals. Just across the valley from the Kamloops Airport.

Kamloops Kestrel
Took this image near the Kamloops Airport.

Singing Up a Storm (Lazuli Bunting)
You can often find these guys by listening for their song. It is similar to a gold finch with a few variations. There were quite a few like this near the Kamloops airport along one of the favorite biking trails.

Kamloops Lazuli Bunting
Got this little fellow on the way to the Lac Du Bois grasslands.

Calendar Shot
Got our little buddy poseing on a nice old pine log.

Chipmunk in Pine Tree
Here is another resident of the interior we don't get out on the coast. Friendly little guy.

All Up in a Flap
Didn't see any female Yellow-Headed Blackbirds in my visit to Tunkwa Lake B.C. but some of the males have shown up - what a racket!

Yellow-Headed Blackbird
Got this image at Tunkwa Lake near Kamloops B.C. You just don't see these guys much out on the coast. Never forget the noise they make. Sounds like a kid's toy train on steroids.
