Blue On Blue 2018 (Mountain Bluebird)
A male mountain bluebird brings food for hungry chicks back at the nest.

Walk On Water (Western Grebe)
Went to Salmon Arm today to watch the western grebes with their world famous mating dance. The process is called "rushing" and they actually move their feet so fast that they are able to walk on the water for short distances. Really awesome to see in person. Highly recommended!

What's The Rush? (Western Grebes)
Here is an image from a slightly different angle of the western grebes rushing at a small marsh in Salmon Arm Bay.

Colorful Pose (Yellow-Headed Blackbird)
A nice looking male yellow-headed blackbird stops to pose for us while we photograph western grebes at Salmon Arm Bay.

Bullocks Oriole 2018
These guys were pretty hard to get a good image of. This is about the closest one of the trip. Amazing colors! It always seems to be the nice birds that are the hardest to photograph.

Bullocks Oriole 2018 #2
Oops! Found another image. Thought that I only had the one but this one is even better I think. Taken on a different branch at a slightly better head angle. You be the judge.

Stare Down (Eared Grebe)
An eared grebe turns to stare back at the camera in a pond near Tunkwa Lake B.C.

Tunkwa Lake Eared Grebe
Here is a new species for me. Really beautiful in a weird sort of way. Not too sure of the clarity on this one. Had to hand hold again with 840mm.

Wiley Coyote Environmental
Here is another image of the coyote that we saw. Decided to keep it a distant one with a bit more environment. He didn't stay around long. Just enough time for us to snap a couple of quick shots.

Wiley Coyote
A coyote keeps a close watch on our photographic group from a safe distance. This is a pretty big crop. Taken hand held at 840mm about 500 feet away.

Lazuli In Sage Brush (Lazuli Bunting)
Hard to get a shot of these guys in the sage brush as they always seem to want to hide down low. On this particular occasion the bunting came to the top for a couple of seconds and I was able to grab this image.

Morning Serenade (Lazuli Bunting)
Here is a nice frontal view of that pretty little lazuli bunting. Sings kind of like a yellow warbler on steroids. Not too sure how this will look to you as I am doing all the processing right now from the laptop.

Lazuli in The Leaves (Lazuli Bunting)
I am here in Kamloops shooting with Pius Sullivan and Dave Pley. We really overdosed on lazuli buntings today. One very cooperative bird stayed with us for a couple of hours. Just amazing perches and great colors!

Music From The Cherry Tree (Lazuli Bunting)
Here is our cooperative little buddy at Tranquille near the Kamloops Airport. Lots of nice birds on the bike trail there across from the Cinnamon Ridge Composting Facility.

Lazuli Portrait (Lazuli Bunting)
Found another nice lazuli bunting image from our trip to Kamloops.

Bluebird Blast Off (Mountain Bluebird)
A mountain bluebird blasts off of a snag on the side of the road near Logan Lake B.C.

Perch Of Webs (Mountain Bluebird)
Having a lot of fun playing with mountain bluebirds in the mountains near Kamloops B.C.

Bluebird Backshot (Mountain Bluebird)
Never get tired of photographing these guys. Here is one of my signature over the shoulder back shots.

Neck Twister (Yellow-Headed Blackbird)
A male yellow-headed blackbird twists his neck to growl at another male that has come into his nesting territory.

Whiskyjack In The Moss (Grey Jay)
We couldn't find any grey owls this trip so we had to settle with Whiskeyjacks (grey jays). Still pretty in their own way.

Singer From The Archives (Lazuli Bunting)
Here is the type of Lazuli Bunting images we got last year at Tranquille Near Kamloops. Great day with no harsh sunlight. This photo was never posted previously. Was hoping to get something like this in Victoria yesterday but no such luck. We will probably not be making the trip to Kamloops this year because of the ongoing pandemic. Keeping my fingers crossed that restrictions will ease sometime in July but who knows.
