More Fun With Owlets (Great Grey Owlets)
You could probably get three different portrait shaped photos out of this one but I still think it is kind of neat to get all three of them on one tree.

Moma is Watching (2021) (Great Grey Owl)
Here is a picture of the female great grey. Not much in the way of hunting in the usual places while we were there so unfortunately we didn't get any flight shots. Only saw one male and one female adult this time and they took off a few seconds after we found them. I guess timing is everything.

The Three Caballeros (Great Grey Owlets)
An image from our second trip to the BC interior.
Thanks for the great comments everyone! There were four owlets but one was too bashful to join the other three. Could be he/she was visiting from another brood near by. They don't seem to mind sharing their territory and there are several broods within a short distance from one another. They seem to act as a community at times rather than individual family groups.

Something Fishy (Ruddy Duck)
Couldn't help thinking that this ruddy duck along with its reflection looked like some sort of exotic fish.

Red Head Duck
We do get the odd one of these out on the coast but you see a whole lot more of them in the interior.

Resting on Some Marsh Grass (Yellow-Headed Blackbird)
The yellow heads seemed to be the dominant blackbird in the interior but you could still find some red wing and brewers blackbirds as well.

Yellow Head in Flight (Yellow-Headed Blackbird)
Lots of these guys in the interior right now. You can see them at any small marsh along side of the highway.

Mr. Bubble #2 (Ruddy Duck)
Here a male ruddy duck bubbles as part of the mating ritual to attract the female.

Mr. Bubble (Ruddy Duck)
The male ruddy ducks were bubbling for the females when we went to the interior. Fun to watch.

Bunting Hunting #2 (Lazuli Bunting)
This one is a bit backlit but I decided to post it anyway.

Bunting Hunting (Lazuli Bunting)
We managed to get in a little "bunting hunting" during our trip back at Island 22 Park in Chilliwack.

Interior Trip June 2021 (Eared Grebe)
Lots of these beautiful eared grebes up in some of the ponds and pot-hole lakes in the interior of B.C. This image is the result of a mixture of technology from three different companies. The Sony A92 MILC camera attached to a Sigma lens converter and a Canon EF-600mm F/4 with 2X teleconverter. Not bad results.

All Up in a Flap (Eared Grebe)
In a pond in the interior of BC an eared grebe takes time out to stretch his wings. This image is the result of a mixture of technology from three different companies. The Sony A92 MILC camera attached to a Sigma lens converter and a Canon EF-600mm F/4 with 2X teleconverter. Not bad results.

Resting in The Shadows (Great Grey Owlet)
Stumbled across this one this morning. This was taken just before all of the wildfires started. Don't know why I never posted it. Love the soft light and the catchlight in the bird's eyes.
